Global warming ramble.

Sometimes it amazes me how much people talk without realising their hypocrisy. I just did a whole term of Biology on global warming, and I’ve had carbon dioxide, the enhanced greenhouse effect and rising sea temperatures shoved down my throat. So when I see people endlessly babbling on about climate change and global warming and the “detrimental” affect it will have on the environment, you can understand why I feel like yelling at the TV, “THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!” If people spent half the time they spend talking about things that are not going to change without action, there will be a solution on global warming within a year. All I can say is thank God for the scientists that are living their lives in laboratories searching for an answer. If I feel like yelling at the TV, they probably feel like strangling someone. I can guarantee that after these people finish their little speeches about how they know everything about the earth and how global warming must be stopped; they’ll go to the shops, buy products with 1000 of kilos of plastic packaging, put them in plastic bags, drive their cars home, turn on the TV, turn on the air conditioning and put on every light in their house.

Another point. I for one hate taking responsibility for other peoples mistakes. For example, once when I
was about 8 years old, my 10 year old brother dropped his bowl of sweets on the floor, and then conveniently was “busy” and had to “go somewhere”. So my dear father made me, the poor unoffending innocent one, pick up every single sweet off the floor while my brother watched me from upstairs. As an 8 year old, you can imagine how very pissed off I felt about that. It was probably the worst thing I thought could happen to me at that time. Anyway, my point is that countries like Libya, which is putting out 9.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide per capita is doing more about global warming in its country than countries like Qatar, who is putting out 56.2 tonnes of carbon dioxide per capita. Now, tell me that’s not right. The countries that aren’t even contributing significantly to the enhanced greenhouse effect are trying to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide that other countries are emitting. That sounds really fair to me . So, in conclusion, it is my humble request that the countries that are emitting millions of tonnes of CO² every year accept their responsibility and not ignore the fact that they are choking the earth and everyone in it. That means you, China. Seriously, all these crappy products you’re producing are exactly that- crappy! And worthless! You are killing the planet! That means death! China not doing anything = death. Get the picture? Not meaning to be racism people… it’s not just China. I hope no one takes it that way… people are so sensitive these days.

Last week of school, and I can't wait for it to be over.

Last week of school this week, and you'd think I'd be celebrating. Well, inside I'm already partying, but the reality of every high school kid in Australia is one word: exams. Or assessment, if you want to be really specific. Yep, that’s right, up ahead is a whole week of 1-2 hour exams, some had last week too, but those are the really lucky people. While the new year 12 graduates are drinking their brains to dust on the Gold Coast, everyone else is slugging it out in the classroom whilst trying to find a way to not regurgitate everything they’ve eaten throughout the year.

Speaking of Schoolies, I was watching the 7PM Project last night, and they were showing all the Schoolies hotspots for every state. Surfers for Queensland, Byron Bay for NSW, Lorne for Victoria, Victor Bay for South Australia and Leavers Week in Western Australia. I know what you’re thinking. Where’s the Northern Territory and Tasmania? Well that’s the thing. The 7PM Project didn’t show a destination for the two reject states of Australia, like no one ever shows anything about them. Now that is what I call discrimination. They get rejected for other things too, like concerts of famous people and sport. It’s just not fair, I tell you! Tasmania had its five minutes of fame with the mining incident in Beaconsfield, and the Northern Territory is, well… the Northern Territory. I’m not meaning to be state-ist, if anything I’m defending these states. I mean seriously, there are people there, who have actual feelings and needs to experience good things like sport and stuff.

Okay, now that I have successfully gone completely off topic, I may as well shut up now. Thank you for listening to/ reading my pathetic excuse for a blog. :)
